Kronborg

Kronborg Castle in Denmark, is the tale of medieval King, Erik a Pomerania, whom from its fortress Krogen, began to collect customs duties from the ships that passed the Sound between Elsinore and Helsingborg.

Revenue from the Sound Dues made it possible for King Frederik II to rebuil Krogen, to the fantastic Renaissance castle, Kronborg is today.

Shakespeare chose to let his drama about Prince Hamlet take place at Kronborg, which have made the castle world famous.
